Pat Scheid is the director of Foundation Relations at the Center for American Progress. Prior to joining CAP, Scheid was a program officer in Global Development and Population at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for eight years. She managed grants that support open and responsive governance and promoted public participation so that public services work well for citizens.
Previously, Scheid was the program director at the International Youth Foundation, where she managed a team and portfolio of grants supporting youth employability, education, and leadership development in Africa. She also worked at Aga Khan Foundation USA as a program officer and later as their director of programs and strategic partnerships, where she led field operations support, resource mobilization, and partnership development to empower communities and help improve the quality and equity of education and health care services.
Pat has a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, and computer sciences from Michigan State University, as well as a master’s degree in organizational development from Johns Hopkins University, and she is fluent in French and English.
