Ella Azoulay is the policy and outreach specialist for Higher Education at American Progress. Azoulay served as a field organizer for Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign in Iowa, where she utilized both traditional and digital organizing strategies. Previously, she organized for Liuba Grechen Shirley in New York’s 2nd congressional district during the 2018 midterm elections. Between campaigns, Azoulay served as the communications director for New York’s 2nd District Democrats. She has recently generated digital content for the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
Azoulay holds a bachelor’s in environmental studies from New York University, where she advocated for students as president of the Torch Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary. She is native to Long Island, New York.
Bradley D. Custer and Ella Azoulay submitted a comment letter to the U.S. Department of Education on the administration of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
CAP's Higher Education team worked with Generation Progress to write a comment letter to the Office of Postsecondary Education on its intent to establish negotiated rule-making committees.
