Ben Hatt is the speechwriter for the Executive team at American Progress. He crafts speeches, op-eds, public statements, and other materials for the Executive staff. Hatt previously worked as the speechwriter for New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal (D).
Hatt came to speechwriting with a background in documentary filmmaking. He served as the director of TV development at Moxie Pictures, pitching and developing nonfiction ideas for a variety of media outlets.
Hatt is a graduate of Duke University, where he received an English degree along with a certificate in Arts of the Moving Image. He grew up in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States for college.
