Leelabeth Cronkhite is a legal assistant at American Progress. Previously, she interned for the Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defendants at the American Bar Association (ABA), where she researched and published work advocating for bail reform. Prior to her position at the ABA, Cronkhite worked at the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) as a public policy intern, writing for the NCJA Justice Bulletin on evidenced-based programs to reform the juvenile justice system. Additionally, she has completed summer fellowships at The NewDEAL and Enroll America, progressive startup organizations. Cronkhite earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from George Washington University.
