Senior Religion Reporter, ThinkProgress
Jack Jenkins is the Senior Religion Reporter for ThinkProgress. He was previously the Senior Writer and Researcher for the Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative at American Progress. He also worked as a reporter and blogger for the Religion News Service. His stories and analysis have appeared or been cited in The New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC, The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” National Catholic Reporter, and The Christian Century, among other publications.
Jenkins regularly writes about the intersection of faith and politics, including theological and political debates over religious liberty; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, or LGBT, equality; immigration; race; culture; economics; the environment; national security; and issues that affect religious minorities.
Jenkins has a bachelor’s degree in history and religion/philosophy from Presbyterian College and earned a master of divinity from Harvard University. He plays harmonica and ukulele.
