Expertise: Energy and environmental policy

Danielle Baussan is the director of climate preparedness at American Progress. Prior to joining the organization, she was majority counsel for the Select Committee on Energy and Global Warming, where she focused on state and local environmental initiatives, sustainable development, energy efficiency, and alternative fuels. She previously served the District of Columbia government as director of intergovernmental affairs for the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation, policy advisor under Mayor Anthony Williams, and a Capital City Fellow. A graduate of Rutgers College and University of Virginia Law School, she began her Washington, D.C., career as a legal associate at DLA Piper Rudnick.
