Maryam Adamu
Research Associate
Maryam Adamu is a Research Associate for the Early Childhood Policy team at American Progress. Previously, she was an Emerson National Hunger Fellow with the Poverty to Prosperity Program and Progress 2050 team, where her work focused on economic and racial justice in light of the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. Prior to joining American Progress, Maryam worked to expand the federal Summer Food Service Program in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area and co-directed the Global Engagement Summit, a student-organized conference aimed at building the capacity of the next generation of social change leaders. She holds a degree in political science from Northwestern University.
Maryam is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants and comes to Washington, D.C., from the great state of Arkansas.
