Danielle Root is the associate director of voting rights and access to justice on the Democracy and Government Reform team at the Center for American Progress. Root’s work at the Center focuses on election administration and security; voting rights; civil justice reform; and reforming the federal judiciary. Her work has been featured or cited by major outlets—including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Boston Globe, CNN, and MSNBC—and has inspired legislation at the state and federal levels.
Root holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and political science from the University of Minnesota and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
