Sarah Shapiro is a research assistant for K-12 Education at American Progress. She was previously the special assistant to the executive vice president for Policy. Prior to joining American Progress, she interned for Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) Senate campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and her home state representative, Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ). Shapiro earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy, planning, and development and her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California.
