Jaboa Lake is a senior policy analyst for the Poverty to Prosperity Program at American Progress. Before joining American Progress, she worked in a variety of social research labs and as a research and strategic projects contractor for culturally specific nonprofits and local governments. Lake’s past work has explored hate crime reporting, disparities in police use of force, record expungement, and political engagement by marginalized groups. Her work engages research, policy, and grassroots organizing.
Lake is a Dalmas A. Taylor policy fellow with the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues and a minority psychology fellow with the American Psychological Association. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Merced; a Master of Science from Portland State University; and expects to complete a Ph.D. in applied social and community psychology from Portland State University in 2020.
