DOGE

The so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has ignored federal law and undermined the nation’s system of checks and balances. Its efforts will bring endless harm to Americans across the country—from making U.S. air travel more dangerous, to weakening safeguards against pandemics and limiting access to America’s national parks. The Center for American Progress is working to hold DOGE, Elon Musk, and the Trump administration accountable for its efforts to dismantle our system of governance.

The Trump administration and Elon Musk’s led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are gutting critical government programs. Thousands of federal workers have lost their jobs, and millions more Americans could lose access to the support services they rely on for food assistance, housing, child care, and more.
