Supporting America’s service members and veterans should be a point of nonpartisan pride for all Americans, for it is these heroes—our friends, family, neighbors—whose sacrifices help secure the lives, liberties, and freedoms we enjoy.
Unfortunately, whether by entering into conflict with Iran or by targeting programs that benefit veterans, President Trump has made this community more vulnerable, apparently more interested in using the American military to serve his own agenda and ego than he is in providing the services and benefits those heroes have earned. President Trump and congressional Republicans are pushing a haphazard, harmful agenda that betrays the sacrifice of America’s service members. Far from being a surprise, these negative impacts were foretold as core to the Project 2025 agenda and are already delivering real harms to veterans and service members across the country.
Please join the Center for American Progress for the latest installment in the “Human Impacts of Trump’s DOGE Cuts“ event series: a discussion about the burdens the Trump administration’s failed policies are placing upon American veterans and service members.
