The Trump Administration’s Sweeping Rollbacks of Pollution Protections Endanger the Health and Safety of All Americans

Since starting his second term, President Donald Trump and his administration have stripped away lifesaving protections and advanced misguided policies that favor the fossil fuel and petrochemical industries at the expense of Americans’ health. The administration promised to prevent chronic disease, reduce children’s and families’ exposure to toxic chemicals and pollution, and improve health. In actuality, the administration is scrapping environmental safeguards that protect children’s health; canceling lifesaving research and programs that prevent avoidable disease; and ripping away health care from millions of Americans. Instead of protecting children and families, the Trump administration is recklessly giving corporations a free pass to cut corners and emit more toxic chemicals and pollution that increase the risk of cancer, asthma, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses, all so they can increase their profits. For children and families, the costs are high, lifelong, and potentially deadly.
