Greg Waples is the campaign manager for Guns and Crime Policy at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, Greg served in the Obama administration as a coordinator in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence.

Before working at the White House, Greg was a regional field director for the President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, where he managed field operation in Northwest Pennsylvania. He also previously worked on the Presidential Inaugural Committee, managed a county executive campaign, was a field organizer on a congressional campaign, and worked in the legislative office of former Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D-PA).

Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Greg graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where he was a four-year football letter winner for the Gators. He earned a B.A. in history with a minor in English.
