Jeremy Slevin is the director of advocacy for the Poverty to Prosperity Program at American Progress. Before joining American Progress, he was a producer at MSNBC, where he reported, wrote, and produced political stories for the Emmy-nominated “NOW With Alex Wagner” and “MSNBC Live with Kate Snow.”
Prior to that, Slevin was the communications director for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). In this role, he managed the rollout of major pieces of legislation—including The People’s Budget—and helped organize a nationwide jobs tour for other members of Congress. Slevin began his career as a fellow with the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Slevin graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, with bachelor’s degrees in political science and Spanish.
