Rita Cliffton is a research associate for Climate and Energy Policy at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she was a research and teaching assistant at the University of Virginia, where she received her Master of Public Policy degree. Cliffton also worked as policy analyst for community solar development in Washington, D.C., and has held multiple positions in international development, working across clean water, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture projects in the Middle East, South Africa, and Indonesia. She holds a B.A. in global studies: environments and sustainability from the University of Virginia.
