ADVISORY: CAP to Host Former Special Assistant to the President Derek Chollet to Discuss Obama’s Foreign Policy Legacy; New Book

Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress will host an event marking the June release of The Long Game by former Special Assistant to the President and former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Derek Chollet. The discussion will focus on the successes, challenges, and controversy surrounding President Barack Obama’s foreign policy legacy.

Seen as the definitive insider’s look at the Obama administration’s foreign policy, The Long Game argues that the 44th president redefined the purpose and exercise of American power for a new and complex era. The author takes critics of the administration head on and claims that President Obama has put the United States in a far better position to lead and succeed in the future.
