Washington, D.C. — As the Trump administration works to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that has protected nearly 800,000 young people from deportation, new research sheds light on thousands of LGBTQ DACA recipients who could soon be deported to countries where their lives may be at risk.
The Center for American Progress will host a conference call on Wednesday, October 11, at 11 a.m. ET with immigration and LGBTQ experts to discuss new data from a survey of DACA recipients who identify as LGBTQ. The first-of-its-kind data describes who these immigrants are and how DACA has improved their lives by allowing them to work and study in the only country many of them have ever known.
