Los Jardines Institute co-founder Richard Moore has been a leader in the environmental justice movement for almost 60 years. Inflation Reduction Act funds made possible by the Biden-Harris administration’s Justice40 Initiative
have provided resources to Los Jardines Institute and other members of the La Cosecha/Agri-Cultura Network farmers’ cooperative to plant fruit trees in schools and neighborhoods in Albuquerque, New Mexico, address food injustice, create nurturing green spaces where there are none, and reduce extreme heat risks in the city’s communities.
