Washington, D.C. — Today in Paris, after many years of negotiations, 195 countries reached a historic new international agreement to avoid unmanageable climate change. CAP President Neera Tanden said the following about the agreement:
The new international climate agreement struck in Paris today is a victory for our environment, our prosperity, our public health, and our security. The agreement will promote sustainable growth and reduce climate change threats to infrastructure, food security, water supplies, and more.
To implement this historic agreement and ensure a safer and healthier planet for our children and future generations, we must continue to fight for clean energy and climate progress both at home and abroad.
