RELEASE: New CAP Column Highlights Interior Secretary Zinke’s Contradictory Pardon Process

A new column from the Center for American Progress says Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is treating the country’s national parks and monuments like contestants on a reality show. As Secretary Zinke gets closer to announcing his plan to close or shrink some of the sites, he’s decided to spare a few of them based on their geologic history, hunting interests, and other seemingly arbitrary criteria.

The Center for American Progress decided to play along by identifying which other monuments might clear Secretary Zinke’s publicly declared criteria for national monument status—and they all do.

Read the column: “Interior Secretary Zinke’s Contradictory Pardon Process” by Kate Kelly, Jenny Rowland, and Maya Patel.
