Washington, D.C.—The Center for American Progress’s Sarah Rosen Wartell, Executive Vice President of the Center for American Progress, and former Clinton administration aide at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Economic Council, is available for comment today on the president’s proposal to reform the nation’s housing market. Also available for comment today are the members of the Mortgage Finance Working Group, which released this proposal on January 27, a two-year effort culminating with a progressive plan to reform the U.S. secondary market for residential mortgages.
Earlier this week, Wartell testified before the House Committee on Financial Services hearing on GSE reform, including the “immediate steps needed to protect taxpayers and end the bailout.”
