Washington, D.C. — On Friday, September 13, the Center for American Progress, American Women, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and the Service Employees International Union will host a press call previewing the launch of a major women’s initiative and policy agenda called “Fair Shot: A plan for women and families to get ahead.” The new initiative  is aimed at elevating public policies that can respond to the challenges women face today and ensure that families are not just getting by, but rather have the opportunity to get ahead.

On the call, speakers will discuss details of the campaign’s straightforward, solutions-based policy platform that focuses on promoting economic security, ensuring healthy families and protecting reproductive rights, and expanding women’s leadership. The official public launch of the initiative will take place at an event featuring House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett on September 18 at the Center for American Progress.
