Washington, D.C.—On Thursday, June 14, 2012 Center for American Progress Senior Fellow Bishop Gene Robinson will join religious, policy, and legal experts to explore what religious liberty is—and isn’t—in America today.
Robert P. Jones, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute will open the program with an overview of recent polling on the treasured American value that has become highly contentious over the past several months. Following the polling overview, Sally Steenland, Director of the Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative at CAP will moderate panelists in an informative conversation on marriage equality, contraception, and other issues that have caused recent conflicts over the nature and limits of religious liberty.
