Proposed Priorities for Grant Programs Under the Effective Educator Development Division

In these comments, the Center for American Progress provides some suggestions for strengthening two proposed Education Department priorities concerning grants programs under the Effective Educator Development Division. These additions would help further target grant funding, define what the department considers “high-quality professional development,” further detail what seeking and incorporating input from diverse educators could look like, include additional requirements for what is collected by data collection systems, and offer greater clarity on what it means to make data “publicly accessible.”
