TalkPoverty Happy Hour

Celebrating the relaunch of TalkPoverty Radio

5:00 - 7:00 PM EDT

We’re excited to announce that TalkPoverty Radio is relaunching on We Act Radio, a progressive radio station located in Washington, D.C. Starting on April 30th, we will be lifting up the voices of people living in poverty and discussing key solutions every Thursday at 4pm Eastern on Channel 103.1 FM and online. TalkPoverty Radio will also be available as a podcast so listeners can tune in anytime. To celebrate and hear your pitches for the show, we invite you and any interested friends to join us for a happy hour at Laughing Man Tavern, located right by the Metro Center station at 1306 G St NW, Washington, DC 20005.

During our six-week run on Sirius XM, we were joined by amazing guests such as Melissa Harris-Perry, Senator Sherrod Brown, Rep. Gwen Moore, Rep. Barbara Lee, Linda Tirado, Tianna Gaines-Turner, Sandra Fluke, Cecile Richards, Larry Mishel, Sarita Gupta, and Ai-jen Poo. And, in order to build upon the show’s success, we want to hear from you.

We plan to continue to draw on the expertise and experiences of national and local organizations this time around, and we’re open to pitches and ideas of all kinds for the show. Have a great segment idea? Know a person experiencing poverty who would be great on the show? Interesting study coming out? Let us know at the happy hour or by emailing Alyssa Peterson at [email protected].

We hope you can join us!
