Our nation’s urban centers are the engines of the U.S. economy, and in recent years, more Americans are moving to these communities. Despite the growing popularity of living in urban areas, these communities face a number of ongoing challenges, from housing and transportation to education and workforce accessibility.
The Center for American Progress and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, along with former Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, are pleased to present this discussion by an expert panel focusing on these issues. This event brings together a small group of public, private, philanthropic, and nonprofit leaders to discuss challenges that our metropolitan regions face, as well as emerging solutions, laying the foundation for a vision of a thriving urban America that supports national prosperity.
