Sean McCarthy is a foundation relations coordinator for Development at the Center for American Progress. Most recently, he worked as a finance intern for the Pride Fund to End Gun Violence. Prior to joining American Progress, he worked as a development intern for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and as a board relations intern with the Human Rights Campaign. McCarthy has also interned with Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) in her Washington, D.C., office.

McCarthy currently studies political communication at American University. He holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and journalism from Mississippi State University.
