Washington, D.C. — Today, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) released the Clean Energy for America Act, a bill to simplify and extend clean energy tax credits vital to the creation of a 100 percent clean energy economy. Center for American Progress Senior Vice President for Energy and Environment Policy Christy Goldfuss released the following statement applauding the bill:
Sen. Wyden’s Clean Energy for America Act will deliver much-needed investment in new clean electricity to help build a 100 percent clean future where every American can enjoy fresh air, safe water, and a stable climate. Long-term tax incentives for clean energy are a key promise of the president’s American Jobs Plan and a major driver of the investment the Rhodium Group found would double clean electricity generation over the next decade while creating more than half a million jobs. This bill would transform the clean energy economy and guarantee good pay for the jobs it creates. Let’s get to work.
