Washington, D.C. — Earlier this year, President Joe Biden took steps to provide relief to millions of borrowers struggling under the weight of student debt. But can the federal government do more to address the root causes of college affordability and the student debt crisis?
Please join the Center for American Progress for a virtual event exploring President Biden’s recent decision to cancel a portion of federal student loan debt, efforts to improve college quality and lower costs for students and families, and what reforms are necessary to prevent another student debt crisis from emerging in the future. Two congressional champions of higher education reform—Reps. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Bobby Scott (D-VA)—will join CAP for this event.
