EVENT ADVISORY: Ohio Women and Allies Convene to Explore Their Untapped Potential & Strategize on Advancing Progress for Women and Families

Columbus, Ohio — This Friday, the Center for American Progress, Innovation Ohio Education Fund, and Ohio Women’s Public Policy Network will host a major women’s convening, Building Women’s Progress. The event will explore the many barriers facing Ohio women, particularly women of color, as well as the policies, strategies, and organizing tactics being employed by lawmakers and community organizers across the Buckeye State.

To accompany the event, the Center for American Progress will be releasing new data looking at the proportion of Ohio mothers who are the sole, primary, or co-breadwinners in their families, despite working in fields that are less hospitable to working parents.

The summit will include discussion of public policy issues affecting women’s equality and economic security, including pay equity, paid sick and family leave, access to abortion and reproductive health, maternal and infant mortality, and access to affordable child care.
