AVAILABLE FOR COMMENT: Legal Expert Available for Comment on 4th Circuit Health Care Appellate Hearing

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The first appellate hearing over federal health care law will be held in Richmond, VA on Tuesday. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit will consider the constitutionality of two cases that will test the President Obama sponsored legislation that requires people to buy health insurance by 2014.

The case will play out in front of the highest court to date, bringing it closer to a possible Supreme Court hearing.

The Center for American Progress’ Ian Millhiser will be attending the oral arguments and be available for comment immediately after, approximately 11:00 am EST.

To learn more about why the Affordable Care Act is "Clearly Constitutional," read Ian Millhiser’s issue brief here or the amicus brief he filed on behalf of several health provider organizations here
