PRESS ADVISORY: Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Weldon Angelos to Discuss Marijuana Legalization at a Live Thinking CAP Podcast Event

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, June 27, CAP will host a live podcast event with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Weldon Angelos, who was sentenced to 55 years as a first-time offender for marijuana sales, for a discussion on sentencing reform and the path forward for marijuana legalization. The discussion will be recorded in front of an audience for an upcoming episode of the Thinking CAP podcast and moderated by CAP’s Michele Jawando and Igor Volsky.

It is time to rethink the outdated marijuana policies that have contributed to mass incarceration. A new CAP poll shows that nearly 70 percent of Americans support marijuana legalization. Cities and states are starting the change; it’s time for the rest of the country to catch up.
