PRESS CALL ADVISORY: Rep. Fattah Joins CAP and NCLR to Discuss Racial Funding Inequities in our Nation’s Schools

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, August 22, 2012 as students across the country head back to school, Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA) will join experts from the Center for American Progress and National Council of La Raza on a press call to release a new report that explores the racial inequities in funding that still persist in our nation’s schools.

The speakers will discuss the paper’s sobering finding that across the country students of color are being shortchanged as schools continue to spend significantly more on white students. The experts will also address potential solutions to this pressing civil rights challenge.
