Jasia Smith is a research associate for Domestic Climate Policy at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she was an intern for Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) and a student board member and coordinator for her university scholarship office, the Georgetown Scholars Program, which supports the needs of first-generation low-income college students. She graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in science, technology, and international affairs and a concentration in energy and environment. Smith is from Washington, D.C., and cherry blossom season is among her favorite times of the year.
