Caleb Smith is the director of LGBTQI+ Policy at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, they managed policy and strategy efforts at national LGBTQ+ organizations. Most recently, Smith led state legislative strategy at The Trevor Project. They earned a bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Islamic studies from the University of Kansas. Smith enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, baking, and working in her tomato garden.
