The Next 30 Years: Political and Policy Implications of Changing Demographics in the United States

New Poll Examines Attitudes Toward Rising Diversity and Continued Inequities

12:00 - 1:30 PM EDT

America’s demographic changes – its possibilities and its challenges – are the subject of a new nationwide public opinion poll that will be released by the Rockefeller Foundation in partnership with the Center for American Progress and PolicyLink. One of the largest of its kind, the poll interviewed people in five languages including oversamples of African Americans, Latinos, and Asians. This breadth and depth allows for a much clearer picture of how Americans are reacting to demographic trends than previous surveys.

Topics include:

  • How open are Americans to diversity?
  •  How concerned are they about racial and income inequality?
  • Would Americans support policies and investments to reduce inequality and ensure everyone can participate in the economy?

Please join us for an important discussion about Americans’ reactions to demographic shifts and opinions about how public policy can help make this transition work well for the entire nation.
