On March 8, International Women’s Day, please join the Center for American Progress for a public event that will focus on implementing Sustainable Development Goal 5, “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.” While many recent analyses highlight the potential benefits of women’s economic empowerment—including greater economic growth and improved health and education outcomes for future generations—substantial legal, cultural, and social barriers remain.
