Please join the Center for American Progress for a discussion on shared economic challenges for the United States and Japan. As Japan faces challenges in encouraging economic growth with higher levels of female labor force participation and the United States faces a potential stalling-out of progress in increasing women’s economic equality, how can our two countries learn from each other’s successes and failures? The panel will discuss common challenges and successes of the two countries. Keynote speaker Sandra Black, a former member of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama, and leading American and Japanese economic policy experts will discuss shared challenges to advancing the mutual goals of expanding economic opportunity and maintaining economic growth.
