Last month’s defeat of the Farm Bill put forth by House Republicans was a welcome relief. It also provides an opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to work together on a bipartisan Senate bill that protects the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and invests in workers. CAP seeks to ensure that a policy is put forth that maintains vital nutrition assistance for millions of children, seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and workers struggling to put food on the table.
Join CAP for a Business Alliance exclusive phone briefing with Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), American Progress’ Executive Vice President of Policy Jacob Leibenluft, and American Progress’ Vice President for the Poverty and Prosperity Program Rebecca Vallas, to discuss CAP’s strategy in the weeks ahead and what the new Senate bill could mean.
Call-in information will be provided upon RSVP. Please contact Ashley Robinson, Senior Major Gifts Officer by email at [email protected] or by phone at 202.796.9706 with questions.
