A Civil Society Perspective on the Transition in Afghanistan: Elections, Reconciliation, and Reforms

9:00 - 10:30 AM EST

Please join the Center for American Progress and Heinrich Böll Stiftung North America for a discussion with three of Afghanistan’s most esteemed civil society leaders. The panelists will discuss Afghanistan’s transition, including the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, the political settlement process with insurgents and other elements in Afghanistan society, and their vision for a post-2014 Afghanistan. They will also share their views on how Afghans, with the support of the international community, can shepherd in a stable, peaceful Afghanistan as the United States and the NATO International Security Assistance Force reduce their presence.
