Led by the Center for American Progress, this letter expresses support for the Classrooms Reflecting Communities Act and is addressed to the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. This legislation would help combat teacher shortages and increase teacher quality and diversity by creating a five-year competitive grant program to fund Grow Your Own programs in rural, high-need districts.
The positions of American Progress, and our policy experts, are independent, and the findings and conclusions presented are those of American Progress alone.
