Led by the Learning Policy Institute, these comments support some of the Department of Education’s proposed changes to the administrative management of the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program. The authors also make some additional recommendations, including the inclusion of provisions to address loan servicer accountability, such as escalating consequences for repeated inappropriate grant-to-loan conversions or failure by loan servicers to provide accurate and timely information to grantees.
