Make a personal commitment to embrace diversity

Darius Brown explains why we should all embrace the diversity of backgrounds in America, as the nation moves toward not having a clear racial or ethnic majority.

There is a Chinese proverb: "Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand."

During the month of April Delawareans should do something out of the box, something uncomfortable.

Ready?

Here it is: Interact with someone of a different background than you. Become intentionally inclusive in your social and recreational activities. The demography of our state continues to shift, and in the coming years will include more residents from other states and immigrant populations.
