NEW TIME AND NUMBER – ADVISORY: What’s at Stake for Tennessee in King v. Burwell Case with Vice President for Legal Progress Michele Jawando and Local Nashville Resident

Washington, D.C. — On March 4, the Supreme Court will hear King v. Burwell, and nine justices will hold the fate of millions of Americans’ access to affordable health care in their hands. The case threatens to cause a meltdown in the health care system by eliminating tax credits to buy health insurance through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces in approximately three dozen states, including Tennessee. This meltdown could take away health insurance coverage from nearly 9 million Americans and would cause premiums to spike for millions more.

The stakes in the case are very personal. Please join Tennessee experts and one of the nine people from the Center for American Progress’ Hear the Nine campaign to discuss what the Court’s decision on King v. Burwell would mean for people, the economy, and the health care industry in Tennessee.

Michele Jawando, Vice President for Legal Progress, Center for American Progress
