Arizona has re-awakened the great cause for civil rights, and politicians who stand in the way of immigration reforms that would help correct the immigration system are only looking out for themselves and not the greater good.
Even before Arizona enacted its harsh immigration law that relies on racial profiling to be carried out, dozens of grassroots organizations from across the country were mobilizing and campaigning for passage of a comprehensive immigration reform bill. Let us not forget that on March 21, more than 200,000 marchers from across the country came to the National Mall to demand passage of comprehensive immigration reform. It is not just immigrants—undocumented or legal residents—that are demanding comprehensive immigration reform.
