Plastics Are Fossil Fuels

From extraction and production to disposal, plastics harm our communities, ocean, and climate. Plastics also threaten the clean energy transition by locking in fossil fuel production for decades. Tackling the plastic pollution crisis is an opportunity to address two major administration priorities: reducing emissions and advancing environmental justice. This panel will focus on community-centered policy opportunities to tackle this problem at the national and international scales.
