The goal of President Biden’s America the Beautiful commitment is to increase the pace and scale of conservation, while pursuing a collaborative and inclusive approach that supports locally led and locally designed efforts, honors Tribal sovereignty, and supports priorities of Tribal nations and Indigenous peoples. While area targets are important, conservation success should focus on advancing durable, high-quality solutions that benefit healthy communities and wildlife, creating jobs and protecting America’s natural and cultural heritage. This panel will discuss metrics for conservation success beyond the 30x30 goal.
