Building an Economy for All
Washington, D.C. — Following President Donald Trump’s decision not to sign legislation aimed at lowering housing costs, Chad Maisel, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, issued the following statement:

Americans are struggling with housing costs made worse by the president’s war in Iran and tariffs. Donald Trump says he wants to lower costs, but when it came time to act on housing, he walked away, leaving families to pay the price.
