Washington, D.C. — After shots were fired at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, Patrick Gaspard, president and CEO of the Center for American Progress, issued the following statement:
This shooting at the Trump political rally is a dark development for our country. We should all be relieved that former President Trump was not seriously harmed, and we mourn the death of a rally attendee. This act of violence requires the strongest condemnation by all.
